Sopore, Kashmir | November 26
Breaking News.ie – A grenade tied to a dog’s neck exploded in a shopping area in Indian-administered Kashmir today, wounding four people, police said.
The blast missed its apparent target, a paramilitary guard post outside a government hospital in Sopore, police said.
The dog was killed instantly by the explosion. The wounded were treated at a local hospital and released.
It was the first known time that separatist Kashmiri militants – the suspects in the attack – have used such a method. No one claimed responsibility for the attack.
Security officials could not explain how the attackers planned to pull the pin on the grenade, send the dog in the proper direction, and still have time to flee.
