The Nation (Pakistan) – The Muttahida Majlise Amal (MMA) reiterated its resolve to get rid of “American stooge General Pervez Musharraf” and implement Islamic code of life in the country here Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Over 2,000 activists of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), including two MNAs and two MPAs, were arrested by law enforcement agencies all over Sindh and in Islamabad by Friday night as a ‘pre-emptive action’ in connection with the alliance’s call for a nationwide strike today (Saturday) against inflation and unemployment.

PML president and Balochistan Parliamentary Committee Chairman Ch Shujaat Hussain on Wednesday phoned tribal leader Nawab Akbar Bugti and assured him that army would not conduct any operation in Dera Bugti and all issues would be settled diplomatically, according to sources.
