CDReOrg – A2K
The CDReOrg process is a monthly event which takes place during the Dayend jobflow. The operator will have to respond to certain console messages. To display all outstanding console messages, the operator can enter D R,R at any time. The message number and content will display.
During the Preflow jobstreams, job OAP40#01 will issue message:
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR CICS (A2K) – REPLY OK.
This is just a ‘heads-up’ warning. CDReOrg actually occurs later as part of PADAYEND.
Operator should reply R nn,OK
Later in Dayend, OAP41#01 will issue message:
BRING DOWN CICS(A2K) FOR MAINT. WHEN CICS DOWN, REPLY OK
This message generally occurs between 12:15 and 12:30, but we do not bring down A2K at that time, because the lab needs a report which is not created until the 01:00am jobs trigger.
Since CDReOrg requires an outage of the production application, special procedures must be followed, including putting into place a ‘SUT Password’ before taking down A2K. The SUT Password will be set up and distributed to CallCenter via email before CDReOrg is scheduled.
At 01:00am, the operator will call x72693 (ER/Admitting) to tell them ‘SMS coming down in 10 minutes’.
Operator will shut down A2KTEST by entering R nn,ENDTEST to the appropriate outstanding message.
At 10:15am, operator will do the following: Enable SUT Password
Enter console commands:
Should show ‘no sessions’
Operator will shut down A2K by entering R nn,ENDPROD to the appropriate message.
When A2K ends, operator will enter R nn,OK to the previous outstanding message from OAP41#01.
PADAYEND will continue and perform CDReOrg and the Dayend process will continue.
A2K will automatically be restarted at when CDReOrg completes.
WARNING: Depending on how long it takes A2K to restart, some jobs may get started before A2K is fully up and may bomb out.
Please stay alert to this possibility.
Once A2K is back up, do the following:
Call x72693 (ER/Admitting) and tell them the ‘SUT Password’.
We must emphasize that they MUST notify us as soon as they have entered into the system any patients that came in during the outage.
Until they do that, the rest of the hospital cannot use the system.
We normally expect them to take as long to catch up as we were down - i.e.; it takes them 30 minutes to catch up from a 30-minute outage.
If they haven’t called in a reasonable time, call them.
When they are caught up, the operator will Disable the SUT Password
This lets the rest of the hospital log on.
After A2KTEST is back up and has issued message:
CICS 0001 -- REPLY JOBNAME=A2KTEST APPL=TEST
Operator will Sign onto A2KTEST (via Rumba) and do the following:
LDT/LTD for Id/Pwd
Wait 30 seconds or so and enter CTL+SHIFT+A
This should result in a message across the bottom of the screen.
If not, wait longer and do CTL+SHIFT+A again.
Once the message appears across the bottom, ClearScreen and enter LOGOFF
